Catalypse is a classic side-scrolling shooter video game published by Genias in 1992 for the Commodore 64 and entirely conceived (graphics, sound and programming) from Italian Andrea Pompili.

The game is set in space, the player finds himself in command of a ship that has to arrive at the end of the level while avoiding collisions with enemies and background elements. Catalypse is divided into 5 levels, each level with monsters at the end of considerable size to the characteristics of the C64.Controversial vote on the poor English version of Zzap! 64, in 84, will give it a 30%, while the competitor Commodore Format magazine gives it a 90%.

Featuring great graphics and sound effects, is considered by some a sort of swan song of the Commodore 64,both for the quality achieved (this was an introduction spoken with a voice that is synthesized from C64) for the programming mode "solo" that already at that time was considered a singularity.
